5 Vintage Shops You Need to Follow on Instagram
BY MELISSA DIAZ
If you are a lover of vintage clothes like me you may already follow these boss lady accounts. Each have their own aesthetic and just by looking at their feed it will make you want to purchase everything (I know I have). But if you are someone who wants to build their wardrobe with more vintage pieces then keep reading because I've listed the top 5 vintage shop accounts I follow on Instagram. These shops will give you all the style inspiration you didn't know you needed.
Na Nin Vintage is one of my favorite online Instagram stores. They originally began in 2009 as an online shop, but up until 2016 they opened their Instagram account for vintage hunters like you to shop (with outfit inspo by their perfectly crafted feed). On their website it states, "...we share our love of style by trying to capture candid moments in which the customer can imagine the movement, feel and everyday wear of the item."
Almost Always Vintage was one of the first vintage store accounts I ever followed on Instagram because they are based in Miami (like me) and their brand can be summed up into three words, "chic, sustainable, y con sazon." You don't only get photos of the outfits, but videos of the models dancing to Latin music. They have created a brand of themselves and I always look forward to seeing them on my feed.
3. Courtyard LA
Courtyard LA is one of the most well-known vintage accounts on Instagram followed by celebrities such as Rowan Blanchard and Lily Rose Depp. This shop is women-owned as stated on their website, "...we are a group of young(ish) women producing and carrying clothing we would want to wear and doing it in a way we think it should be done." If you are new to shopping vintage then they are a good account to start following for inspiration. They now have partnered with a local designer in California and have been producing their own pieces for sale.
Three Days a Week is a clothing company that presents vintage apparel in a new light. Their feed is retro and colorful with their very own unique aesthetic. It is also a women-owned brand working their way into the vintage fashion world on Instagram. If you want to build your style up to resemble more of the past decades their account is a great place to begin.
5. I Am That
I Am That is the perfect shop to find both classic and bold vintage pieces. You can find many popular brands including Betsey Johnson, Y2k, and Max Mara. What makes them different is that you can actually sell your vintage clothes to their shop. If you are looking for classic vintage pieces I highly recommended checking them out.
I hope this list helps you find your vintage style inspiration because the best part about shopping vintage is helping the environment. It reduces trash while reviving unwanted items and making them new again for someone else. Plus, we are seeing the past decades make a comeback in today's fashion world. So when you don't want to pay for designer remember there are vintage shops at the palm of your fingertips.
