BY MELISSA DIAZ
IF CALVIN KLEIN COULDN'T GET ANY BETTER -- THE MOST VISIBLE BRAND IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY HAS PARTNERED WITH THE ANDY WARHOL FOUNDATION FOR THE VISUAL ARTS ONCE AGAIN. THE SELF-PROCLAIMED MEETING OF AMERICAN ICONS RELEASED ANOTHER RETAIL EDITION OF THE LATE PHOTOGRAPHER'S PORTRAITS FROM THE ANDY WARHOL: EXPOSURES, '77 - '85 COLLECTION.
The collection, launched on July 24th, features Warhol's photos of naked, anonymous New York men and Italian magazine editor Daniela Morera from 1977 to 1985. The polaroid portraits are on numerous items such as T-shirts, tank tops, trunks, boxer briefs, bralettes, bikinis, and boy shorts.
However, this isn't the first time Calvin Klein spotlighted Andy Warhol's work. Earlier this summer, the brand debuted a collection of Warhol's self portraits on sneakers, jeans, and tees.
Calvin Klein has even featured Warhol's paintings in their runway shows numerous times. The first of the underwear capsule was of two provocative prints from Warhol's film Kiss. But this time, the collection focuses on his photography. According to the press release, the latest collection is meant to celebrate the human body.
If you are someone who loves art and loungewear, then this fusion of both is perfect for you. The best part is the collection's unique accessibility; prices ranges from $34-$58 and it can even be purchased online. Check out the full collection here to see the continuation of a legacy.
